The Indiana PennDOT DL center (closed on Mondays) also has a gunbuster sign on the door, but it's also inside a shopping mall (which is "no guns" according to their rules and regulations somewhat posted near the main entrances).

The vast majority of leased Pendot space is illegally posted. I got involved a few years ago and filed some FOIA requests as well as sent letters to Pendot and their lawyers. They tried to claim the property owners posted the buildings, but my FOIA information showed property owners were only asked if Pendot could post the buildings. Furthermore, Pendot bought and provided the stickers. In some of the strip malls (one owner), you would see Pendot posted while six or eight other businesses were not.

With a anti-gun governor and his buttboy AG in charge, it isn’t worth fighting (yet). IANAL, but if anyone gets confronted, one could certainly stand their ground and ask to get trespassed by the Pendot manager. Video tape the whole thing, and be sure to remind Pendot, and the police, on camera that they are violating PA pre-emption law, and that Pendot has no immunity for violating your rights under color of law.

You cannot also carry in courts, prisons, and probation/parole offices (title 18 section 913 - court facilities). I have seen the no gun sign at welfare offices, but I have no idea what the law is that backs them up.

Gambling Commission posted casinos but that was overturned using Preemption in court.. now it is up to the property owner.

I am not sure this would be a good idea. You can bet your bottom dollar that the TV stations would be called, and on the nightly news there would be a big to do about the lawbreaker trying to carry a gun into a government office. As decribed above, there are legal channels to pursue which have been effective to counter governmental overreach.

You shouldn't be allowed to receive welfare until you've sold your gun collection, this one I can understand.

FWIW .... I was near the Media PennDot location again yesterday so I took a few photos of the no guns sticker. It is not like the other locations. The color of the circle and slash which used to be red have faded and it's peeling off the glass.

but members from across the commonwealth went and looked and every DMV Office is exactly alike.. a white circle around a white pistol with a white slash.. almost all posted on the inside of the glass on the entrance door

Went to the one in Huntington Valley on Friday after work for my new picture/license. Didn't notice any signs of decals on the door and walked in with my Kel Tec in my pocket.

Walked in , took a number , and they called it immediately.

What did tick me off was the 1 hour I waited for READ ID pre-verification. 7 in line ahead of me and not 1 person called!
