I'd call Jon Mirowitz, he was a key part of the group of lawyers who beat the city, and he lives in Philadelphia and has a whole lot of experience beating them on gun issues for decades. (215) 324-0603

It's amazing to me how attitudes toward criminal acts are instantly Pavlovian-shifted when a gun is involved.

The gun is the trigger of some serious ingrained and unthinking prejudices.
There are two kinds of guns. Those I have acquired, and those I hope to.

You don’t think the cops aren’t disciplined (suspended) and have to pay for the weapon if it is city owned ?

For the record I disagree with confiscating a LTCF simply because of a theft. As mentioned above, there is a process of revocation if there is an issue with a person’s qualifications to carry.

With the Right, comes some responsibility and while I am not blaming the OP, I get to see the number of firearms stolen weekly from Philadelphia residents and the number taken from inside vehicles is surprising. And the number of folks without an LTCF transporting their firearm improperly is staggering also.

If the detectives are violating the agreement that was reached, that has to be corrected. The response he gets will be interesting.

Different point, and I AM NOT A LAWYER, the LTCF he took from you (illegally) is merely a piece of paper documentin* the fact you indeed have an LTCF. My point: legally you should still be ok to carry as you are still licensed.

If you had a sarcastic attitude like me, you could always arm yourself, open carry, and walk up to Detective Dickheads desk to demand your document back. Have someone videotape the ensuing criminality for your subsequent lawsuit.

Hardly the same as not being able to carry ANY firearm, at any time, for at least a year. So yes, absolutely a double standard.

They make you pay for that? And the FOP lets it happen?

And this is why I'll leave it at home before I lock it in my car out there.

If they are suspended they can’t carry. I know of a few who have been under investigation because of the circumstances for the better part of a year.

Others who have served their discipline get their right to carry back because their assignment requires it.

It’s part of the Directives. If they violated the directive, that is part of the discipline.

Personally I would like to see them start doing that with preventable auto accidents.
