They like having Doctors handing out directives. Many people still blindly respect their doctors and assume the MD knows everything! It gives the antigun position cache and undeserved authority and importance.

I started our oldest daughter at age 6. The old candy "Necco Wafers" glued to a paper plate and tacked to a tree were our favorite targets at the time. They had to make the targets the night before. The toughest thing was to keep #3 daughter from running up to the tree after our 10 yd. range was made safe, and eating the remnants that got splattered...

All the 4 kids turned out just fine (no eating glue problems as an adult, etc). FWIW, #1 daughter is fine out to 740 yds, #2 daughter is anti 2A but knows how to shoot, #3 daughter not only knows how to shoot but won an Emmy a few years ago, and #4 son could kick my ass at the range when he was 12...

I guess that's why you have to have more than one kid - not all of them believe the USA is a constitutional republic!

Too bad they don't teach firearms safety in schools, then the doc could ask " Is your school teaching you firearms safety"

My doc is a member of my gun club. Whenever I have an appointment , his first question is usually "What new toys did ya get?''.

How many parents have problems with newborns accessing firearms in the house?

"No" is the only answer that isn't a "yes".

    Q: Do you have guns?
A: I'm not answering because it has nothing to do with health care.
" Translation: "Yes, I have guns".

Anything other than "No, guns are dangerous!" is the same as saying "yes".

What about schools? Especially high schools. Numerous contacts with teachers, counselors, vice principals and principal.

Have they been asking the students questions re their home environments including the presence of guns? Would seem a probable result of school shootings, since school shootings have involved students.
There are two kinds of guns. Those I have acquired, and those I hope to.

My grandchildren all have the same script, no matter who asks, Are there any guns in your house? Guns, No we don't like guns.
    And we practice the script
