Default Colt 1908 Hammerless - What's it worth?

I'm trying to help a friend of the family sell her recently deceased husband's Colt 1908 Hammerless pistol. It's .380 caliber, and based on the serial number, it was manufactured in 1922. I've seen prices on these range from $500 to $2000 on Gunbroker and the Blue Book of Gun Values lists these for a similar range depending on grade. I'm not sure what grade it would be considered, however.

Thought I'd post some pics and get some opinions from our knowledgeable crew.

Lots of questions. Could you get better pics of the finish and have you tried to clean it at all? Is that white paint on the grips? Does it function?

Here are all of the pics I have - https://postimg.cc/gallery/2ntqgkjuw/ Those are the best pics I have at the moment. I don't have access to the gun; I 'd need to go back over and take more pics. It doesn't need cleaning. The "finish" in the pics is the patina. The left side grip panel does have white spots on it. Whether it's paint or not, I can't say. As far as function, I don't know. She said her husband had shot it in the past and it was loaded when I looked at it last night. Mechanically, it seems to be sound.

$600 I think is fair from what I can see and what I have paid.
