    That's just cheap.
Was it a trade in or did he sell it to them?
The shop told me they could buy the river Alaskan for $860.. retail is 900-1000ish for a new one.
They gave me 700+ 2 hours of range time.
I would have liked to get a little bit more, but over all im content with the deal.

I aquired it in trade with cash on another deal. I didn't loose money.

600 for a gun that they sold for 1250 is just a screwing of that was a trade in. If it's a sale I would be more understanding. Even a sale seema like it should be a little higher then that. What's consignment costs? 10-15%?
He could have asked them to sell it and madr more money.

They sold it for 1250.00, another friend bought it and sold it 1500.00

Sold it to them. I dont think they do trades.
They are like car dealerships, they make the money
    on selling used, and repairs.

When I worked in a shop the going rate was 70% of appraised blue book value for most items. Really common stuff like old 22 bolt actions, 30/30 levers, and 12 ga pumps were generally less than that. Scopes and accessories were not a factor unless it was something really nice.
