Ok I have the samples. They turned out great! I'm on my way to work so can't take pictures right now.

However, the Dad hat is probably what we're going with. One, the velcro hat color is closer to dark green than grey imo, but it still looks good. Two and more importantly, the dad hat has the superior adjustment mechanism. I think it'll even fit gixxers dome.

Both are quality hats, but the velcro won't adjust very small or large to accommodate all the heads. It'll also wear out. The buckle on the dad hat even has a slot to tuck the tail into so it looks clean.

I can't speak to the possible sizing problem, but I have never had a velcro hat clasp wear out. Once you size the hat for your head it stays in the position picked, you no longer 'work' the velcro. Maybe undoing and redoing it a few hundred times could wear it out, but I don't see it being a problem otherwise.
