That makes sense now. I just felt like $800 for a brand new P226 with a G10 grip was a steal.

JenniferG, where did you find that information? I was wondering if it had the SRT and didn’t want to take it apart. (No other sig to compare with.) I took pictures and now I have to figure out how to upload them from my phone.

If you find the 226 and 229 are too large to carry, consider the 239. It's the perfect size, all metal, with the Sig quality you expect. You'll have to find a used one though, they are no longer produced.

2022s are cheaper because of the frame and it's a less complicated gun. I've had one loved it for carry but got rid of it. The slide lock would smash my right hands thumb knuckles shooting. I couldn't find a close way to do it without feeling awkward shooting it.

The SP2022 is awesome. I love mine. It's on my list of guns I will never sell. It's my go to for SHTF and I use it for IDPA and USPSA. It's accurate and a real soft shooter for being polymer and .40 S&W. Never had a problem with it. Some day I may buy one in 9mm and .357 Sig just to complete the collection.
