Default Looking for a barreled action remington 700 in .300 RUM

I need some help. I've been looking all over the net for a barreled action remington 700 in .300 RUM. Would like to find one with a threaded barrel. Any direction would be a great help.

Euro optic is selling Remington actions right now. Buy one and spin a barrel of your choice on it.

    Two random thoughts..............

    1) Buying a complete rifle can often cost the same as a new barreled action (especially if on sale). Sell the unused stock on Ebay and you can be ahead.

    2) If you are planning a special build you do not want a stock Remington barrel. So find a donor action / rifle, get out your checkbook and talk to a reputable gunsmith.

I agree with Delkal. There are used 300 Rums on GB and I see them for sale a lot in www.longrangehunting.com.

There are deals to be had at local shops. I drive a lot for work and I find myself in some random gun shops from time to time. I picked up a brand new 700 SPS in 300 RUM for $500 OTD. Apparently it was sitting at the shop for some time and they just wanted it gone. Had a guy thread the barrel and put an OPS muzzle brake on it.

He did some other work to it for me to make it what I wanted. Coupled with a new Boyds stock and a Leupold VX5 I picked up on sale I have exactly what I wanted for fairly cheap all things considered.

It's the VX5-HD and it's really nice. As far as what I'm going to kill with it. Right now it's going to be steel and paper until I can put enough away or get lucky enough to go west for a hunt.
