There have been plenty of rumors about Alloway, maybe things are catching up to him.

A Republican Florida Governor just caved on anti-gun legislation. Tennessee has a lot of lefty Democrats -- they gave us Al Gore and others. Texas, while still having a strong firearms culture, is changing too. For goodness sake, that communist Beto barely lost to Ted Cruz. The usual stuff, urban leftists deciding what the rest of the state must swallow and Constitutional rights mean nothing to a Democrat majority. The fight is here and now, wherever you are. I admit to retreat in NJ, but I figure PA was a good state to make a stand. The good citizens of NJ were being dictated to by leftist Democrats in the urban population centers and the demographics there were hopeless.

Alloway was an outstanding rep for us locally.

Hopefully another good Republican in this very red area will step up and win the special election if there is one.

Heck, give me the money and I'll run. I'll fight for you.

A personal friend of his who is a journalist wrote a piece on how is quitting because he is such a stand-up guy. Made it sound like he was the only beacon of hope in the swampy swamp, and he was getting out because even his voluminous goodness was not enough and he thinks he can now make a bigger difference as a private citizen.

What I heard: "I don't have the spine to stand up for what I used to believe in, and I'm catching too much shit by shifting left."

I'd bet a year's salary he's not done in politics/"public service". Heard a similar story years ago from a retiring state legislator who miraculously ended up with a high-paying job on the gaming commission soon after gambling expanded in PA.
