Re: 9mm mag block for 5.56 lower....which one?
It bends the ejector and will not eject or feed. Jams the gun.
Added a video link of the failure.

Key word there is BUDGET. Cheap shit rarely works.
I've got 1k in my total gun. Runs flawlessly even after 10k round count.Last edited by DucatiRon; January 19th, 2019 at 12:21 PM.

Re: 9mm mag block for 5.56 lower....which one?
I bought the complete "pistol" from Palmetto - right around $500 on sale with free shipping (had to go to my local FFL for transfer) _ LOVE IT ! I have 3-400 rounds through it - and the only problem was a mag dump with the ETS clear 31 round magazines (magazine fault - since remedied - now works fine). This pistol has the KAK brace, an 8" barrel and the PSA lower - I put a Vortex red dot on it and proceeded to make a bullet hole happy face on my target !

Here's a bunch of dedicated lowers at Primary Arms.
As you can see, many are the same price, or less than a mag block.

Re: 9mm mag block for 5.56 lower....which one?
I would recommend Foxtrot Mike (FM Products) line of 9mm rifles and AR pistols. I am running one of their uppers on a PSA lower and it has been flawless. You can get a entire 9mm AR pistol setup from them on Primary Arms for $500 and I am sure the rifle would not be much more. Once you add in the cost of the mag block and complete 9mm upper, you can easily build an entire 9mm rifle. Not to mention, the forward charging handle is kinda cool too.

Just to clarify I'm really not interested in a pistol.

The only way they make sense is if you have an SBRed 5.56 lower and don't want another stamp. If you are building a rifle, just buy a 9mm lower.

Still leaning toward a mag block.
Any advice regarding a buffer for 9mm?

Re: 9mm mag block for 5.56 lower....which one?
Gotcha.
I did kick around a pistol for a while. Being able to transport loaded with a LTCF is appealing, but not very likely to be utilized.
Like I said in the OP black rifles don't do much for me, so I want this to be something I want to shoot, and can afford to shoot.
Overall (sadly) my interest in shooting sports (except hunting) has been diminishing over the past few years.
I purchased an AR10 last year in hopes the PGC someday gets their shit together.

There's really a lot of choices these days.
It's just gotta be a "heavy" buffer made/weighted for 9mm use.
Also look into a "buffer spacer". I can be added to a standard length 9mm buffer to help absorb impact.
There are also extended length buffers that (i think) don't need the buffer spacer.
It's been 2 years since I researched all of this stuff, so get other opinions as well.
