I was reading some NFA stuff, apparently that holster makes a gun an NFA device under the AOW $5 ATF tax stamp. Any shoot through wallet style holster actually. But not until a firearm is inserted into it. It's dumb.

It says on their website NOT INTENDED FOR USE AT THE RANGE. I'd say that's because there are likely to be other people there who will point and laugh and encourage others to point and laugh. Fuck, man. Aluminum black works poorly but this shit is just stupid. Holsters that go on your AR, knives that stick out of the base pad out of your gun (how do you reload?), there are clearly much worse products.

I've used it to try to fill in scratches on my AR, Mossberg and Beretta frame but the only time it's ever worked was for a scratch by the Mossberg safety. I beveled the magazine well on my 92FS and 92A1 and it did a very poor job blackening the edges. Even though I left it alone for nearly a week before inserting a magazine, it still wore off pretty quick.

I could be wrong, but I believe it has to completely cover the pistol to be considered a shoot through holster.
