Re: Jan 09 2019 - introducing the Assault Weapons Ban of 2019
This threat to the 2A needs to be taken very seriously.
They pushed through a similar nationwide ban before and it is always possible for them to do it again.
Do not underestimate those that want to disarm our citizenry.
Please be ready to donate your time and your money to this fight to protect the 2A.How can you have any cookies if you don't drink your milk?

I was not shocked.. that nutsack always supports this crap. Every time I have written his office I get the same "I understand your concerns about the 2nd Amendment but I am going to do what I want with no consideration of anyone's point of view" He is suckling on the Soros Teet and needs to GO!

Re: Jan 09 2019 - introducing the Assault Weapons Ban of 2019
Every threat needs to be taken seriously. With that said, we must look at the political landscape because a lot of people aren't savvy enough to understand when things are more dire and things are less dire. I don't want to make everything a crisis because then a real crisis gets ignored.
With the Republican gains in the Senate, this will die there. It would require sixty votes to move, it won't happen. I won't say we couldn't be threatened by a lesser proposal like UBCs but this is dead in the water. Further, I believe Trump would veto something this draconian. Again, I wouldn't bet on him vetoing a UBC bill but this he would."A man who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing which is more important than his own personal safety, is a miserable creature and has no chance of being free unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself"

Re: Jan 09 2019 - introducing the Assault Weapons Ban of 2019
I agree with your points but my concern remains.
It is not hard to imagine a set of circumstances that would allow this to go through.
But regardless, I think my larger point is that we are losing the status quo one step at a time.
The 2A community must next level its political involvement on all fronts if we want to retain our right to arms. How can you have any cookies if you don't drink your milk?

Re: Jan 09 2019 - introducing the Assault Weapons Ban of 2019
As of now Fitzpatrick nor any other Representative can co sponsor Franken-Feinstein's gun ban because it's a Senate bill. I think you are referring to this:
https://www.breitbart.com/politics/2...ate-gun-sales/
The five are Reps. Peter King (R-NY), Brian Fitzpatrick (R-PA), Fred Upton (R-Mich.), Chris Smith (R-NJ), and Brian Mast (R-FL).
King is a sponsor of the bill to criminalize private gun sales, standing with House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) and Rep. Mike Thompson (D-CA) for more gun control.Last edited by eagleclaw; January 11th, 2019 at 07:29 PM.
