A quick question. Do we need to go thru metal detectors to enter the Capital? Are pocket knives OK for instance?

Metal detectors, wands, pat downs if warranted.

You can check pocket knives when you check your pistol. My kids and I always check knives, never been a problem.

Yep, they'll check your pocket knife and your spare mags.

The form is for checking a handgun if you have one on you and you are going inside. They do not have facilities to store long guns so if you have one with you you won't be able to go inside but you will have plenty of company outside.

For those who HAM, this is all I could come up with on a quick search. Local PD is encrypted from what I gather but there are local repeaters that should be open for use. If anyone has anything extra to add please feel free, I'll probably pick two from this list and monitor them along with monitoring FRS and GMRS.
