Can't tell without seeing it. Just for info, does the one you have look like the picture? Do you see anything that looks off? Is the hole where the spring goes the correct depth? (.686 +-.15 according to the drawing) It should be fixable, but might be easier to replace.

If you are rambunctious you could swap it with your other 45 and see what it tells you. They should be interchangeable. Let us know.

Ok did the swap ... was a little better but not perfect. Remington has no trouble loading or dropping mags. However, I did take off one of the grips hoping I could see where the mag was getting caught and it looks like it is catching on the the small section of the Mag Release that is sticking out into the frame ... in fact there is a shiny silver spot where it is hitting, Your picture looks similar to what I have but I think I need to see how mine lines up with the edge in the picture ... not sure mine is radiuses correctly. Thoughts?

It sounds like your catch needs to be fitted to work correctly. A little bit of filing may be in order, working a little bit at a time. Like some others have mentioned, if you go too far you could be dropping mags while firing, and you don't want that.

If you bring it by the shop, I'll determine what the problem is.

This might be an appropriate time to remind the world of where you are.

This a a big shout out to Sean at CDI for fixing my mag problem on my 1911. He quickly diagnosed the problem and fixed it. Going forward, he has my business and I would highly recommend him.
