I was talking to someone here once about a rifle I own.
He PMd me and said, "someone on Armslist has one like yours for sale." He included a link to the ad.

It was MY rifle - easily identifiable by the custom checkering - and the driveway gravel! LOL!

I contacted Armslist to inform them of the stolen photo and the ad was yanked.

I do have are a very particular set of skills. Skills I have acquired over a very long career. Skills that make me a nightmare for people like you. If you send my rifle now that'll be the end of it.

Always pay particular attention to extra sounds during the conversation. Like bottles clinking, distant drums, spears dragging on the ceiling above, muffled laughter, pages of an English translation dictionary flipping, people running, doors slamming, voices hollering Polizei or other odd names.

The money is gone, I knew that in the first sentence when I read "Armslist", a wretched hive of scum and villainy that makes the cantina in Mos Eisly seem like a CPA convention by comparison.

Armslist is a scam site, with a sprinkling of legit sales. I would sooner put cash in a bottle and toss it into the ocean than send a USPS money order through Armslist. When Nigerians in London get bored with their "foreign bank account of ex-head of state Mogamnbo" scams, they go to Armslist and get Americans to send money orders to meth addicts in the USA who cash the MO's and send the money out of the country.

The money is gone, the USPS doesn't care, the FBI doesn't care, ATF doesn't care, and if you go to that address it will be some loser on disability who pretends not have heard of the scammer.

You got a $900 lesson in "why to be less trusting of strangers". Pass it on to your family and friends.
