FICG FILES LETTER ON BEHALF OF ACSL AND FOAC IN RESPONSE TO PITTSBURGH’S UNLAWFUL SIGNAGE ERECTED BEFORE SECOND AMENDMENT RALLY
Posted on January 3, 2019 by Joshua Prince, Esq.
Today, in advance of the Second Amendment Rally in Pittsburgh scheduled for Monday, January 7th, Firearms Industry Consulting Group® (FICG®), a division of Civil Rights Defense Firm, P.C., on behalf of its clients, Allegheny County Sportsmen’s League and Firearm Owners Against Crime (FOAC), filed a letter in relation to the unlawful signage that has been erected by the City Council in advance of the Rally; wherein, Chief Counsel Joshua Prince explains the erected signage violates 18 Pa.C.S. § 913(d) and 18 Pa.C.S. § 6120. In the event Pittsburgh fails to remove or otherwise correct the signs, ACSL and FOAC are prepared to take legal action against the City. As our viewers are likely aware, ACSL and FOAC already stated their intent to take legal action if any of the unlawful firearm ordinances that have been proposed are enacted by City Council and the Mayor.
If you are in a position to be able to support these matters, ACSL and FOAC would greatly appreciate donations, which can be made online through the Firm’s escrow account here – https://secure.lawpay.com/pages/civi...ensefirm/trust. Simply place “ACSL/FOAC Pittsburgh Preemption Litigation” in the reference box.
If you or someone you know has been the victim of an unlawful municipal firearm or ammunition regulation or ordinance, contact FICG today to discuss your options.

Sign in question-

The sign implies that if you enter the building you are in violation of the law and can be arrested/prosecuted. State law requires such facilities to have a place to store firearms, and to mention that fact as part of the signage. (I’m not a lawyer so it may be slightly more precise than that, but you get the gist.)

Is there a mailing address to send a donation by check?

Re: FICG files letter in response to Pittsburgh’s unlawful signage
Is that why he's threatening to sue - the lack of lockers? Or is it more basic than that? AFAIK, the building doesn't qualify as a courthouse under the law. I don't think it has a courtroom or any other qualifying offices (clerk of courts, D.A., probation office, etc.), in which case the "no guns" prohibition itself is illegal. They probably have some weasel argument, like the building is connected to the courthouse with a tunnel that's not open to the public.

The PA Supreme Court has offices and its Pittsburgh courtroom in the building - http://www.pacourts.us/courts/suprem...arys-addresses. You can also find out more here - http://www.pittsburghpa.gov/city-county-100/

There are county courtrooms on one side of the building.
Life has a melody. Not great, not terrible.

Thanks to the idiots in Jefferson County, the entire building can be considered a court facility even if only one floor of the building really is.
Does the City/County Building have storage facilities as required by state law?

Re: FICG files letter in response to Pittsburgh’s unlawful signage
Can anyone confirm this?
Hello Mr. Prince,
The city of Pittsburgh has responded to your letter by posting signs about free lockers for gun holders inside the City-County building. Are you available for a few minutes for an interview by phone?
Thank you,
