Cheap shotgun holder
I just discovered the Command Mop Holders are also great for shotguns. Your shotgun has to remain on the floor, but the holder will keep it standing upright in a fairly secure manner. Amazon has them for under $6. Just keep your stock on the floor and rest your barrel inside the holder. Now it is easy to keep your shotgun handy near your bed or inside a closet.
