M1 Garand's Winchester Receivers / General M1 questions
Have some M1 Garands with Winchester Receivers (WWII I believe). Any site recommendations that I can look at to determine the approx values of these. Not all parts are Winchester and I'm a novice with Garands compared to other firearms.

Re: M1 Garand's Winchester Receivers
Rebuilt Winchester-based M1's do bring a slight premium. The more Winchester-parts the better.

This will get you started as to value: http://thecmp.org/cmp_sales/rifle_sales/m1-garand/
Some grading criteria:
1. Matching or non-matching parts.
2. Receiver manufacturer (IHC's are at a slight premium)
3. Year of manufacture (WW2 have a slight premium)
4. Stock with cartouches
5. Muzzle and Throat wear (this requires two tools to measure)
6. Lock Bar rear sight have a premiumLast edited by Hawk; December 30th, 2018 at 08:40 AM.

Re: M1 Garand's Winchester Receivers
A Winchester receiver with it's original Winchester barrel would be highly desirable as the other parts to make it 'correct' can still be found, but most Winny's saw hard use and were rebarreled.

http://usriflecal30m1.com/ Go here. More than you'll ever need to know. Down to every little part. To make one an all Winchester will set you back a few dollars. That site can give you a list of every part as it came from the factory.
