Default NRA is up for renewal 2019 yea or nay?

My NRA 5 year membership is expiring in 4 days. Yeah they emailed me (only when it involves money) so I need to decide what I'm going to do.
I really want to send them the old F*** You and a bunch of plastic bits of a pretended bump stock in an envelope but I know there is going to be lots of drama coming up in 2019 from the democrats. I want to have a reasoned approach due to the trouble ahead.

I'm also a member of the GOA and the SAF but a part of me says it a numbers thing and we need to maintain a united front so just renew. I've lost a lot of respect for them but its the gun community that I care about. What do you think is the best thing to do?

Wait til they steeply discount Life Memberships and get one. Maximum bitching for your dollar, and you can still tell them "No more money from me because......"

YEA! Discount the constant pleas for money and nonsense in general, but in many ways we'd be better off if every gun owner belonged! 80 million voters are much harder to ignore that 5 million!

Nail on head. NRA is not perfect nor always in sync with law-abiding gun-owners (at the end of the day they are an INDUSTRY lobbying group protecting gun manufacturers, not gun-owners).

But what's the realistic alternative? Who better to support?

For now, the answer IMHO is "nobody"...

I've got an NRA national championship medal to my name and have been a member at times, but not now. Basically Trump got elected and they decided it was time to go to sleep and do nothing.

We have to remember how the left fights, they never stop agitating. That's why I support the GOA, no compromise, keep agitating, keep fighting.

It's not as simple as a binary choice, and historically, they most certainly have been "against" gun owners' rights on numerous occasions. They do just enough to keep themselves relevant and funded.

If they don't soon get involved in the Pittsburgh mess I'm out. My money will be going to FOAC and GOA.
