Hmmmm...hard to say, but great that your doing this to help the site!
My opinion, Base cost + 5 + 5
I would be interested in a set, pencil and pen..
Next...Pictures of samples! and are they going to have the PAFOA logo or anything?"Disperse you Rebels! Damn you! Throw down your Arms and Disperse!" British Major Pitcairn at Lexington April 19, 1775

Re: PAFOA pen fund
$20 is really cheap for a handcrafted pen. I'd have no problem paying that, and I will.

Re: PAFOA pen fund
Seeing there's cheap wood that looks nice, and there's expensive wood that looks really, really nice I think you shouldn't just leave it to one choice. Perhaps you should open an online store if they're selling that hot BTW. Who knows maybe ten years from now you'll be filthy.

Re: PAFOA pen fund
Not interested, I'd rather just make a donation to PAFOA and make a clean break. I have tons of pens & pencils (except when I need one). For work I have a Fisher Space pen and fountain pens.
Just my personal preference. After years of writing I've settled on fountain pens for everyday use and a Fisher for unusual applications (writing on antenna tape, juvenile pranks @ work, writing in the rain, etc).
Agreed, this fundraiser could have implications for Dan's TLD org status. Maybe PAFOA.com or *.net would fix this. It's Dan's call either way.
For me, fountain pens.

Re: PAFOA pen fund
Can you post some pics of them? I'd be interested in the mechanical pencils.

Re: PAFOA pen fund
They might be...other than a few out-of-the way shops and possibly eBay (check), fountain pens aren't produced any more except for canned mid-range executive gifts. I use old school pens and cheap Schaeffers. Bear in mind I'm an extreme minority as far as my preferences, so you won't have a lot of interest in them. However, if you insist on indulging me, I prefer a fine nib.

Re: PAFOA pen fund
The bullet ones look really neat, but having an actual bullet in there seems like it would throw the balance off for actual use.
My preferences for a pencil would be nice/light balance and a good eraser! I'd buy it to actually use it, not just look at it, so function would be key. I'm not too particular about what type of wood, as long as it looks neat!
If you could take an old military rifle stock and use that wood for the body of the pen, that would really add to it - and really add to the labor!
