Walther PPQ?

I'm starting to get an itch for a new handgun. Anybody own or shoot one? Thoughts?

PPQ M2 (9mm) is a great carry piece - and has one of the best short re-set triggers of any factory model. 15 round magazines come with the pistol but you can find 17 rnd mags too - although noticeably heavier with those 2 extra rounds...

Also adjustable backstraps for customizing your "grip" for small, medium, or large hands.

Wife loves hers, I love mine - what's not to like?

I know a few people that have them and haven't heard a bad thing said about them. Very nice triggers.

I just picked up an PPQ M1. I like the grip on the M1 better than the M2, as well as the paddle style mag release, but that's just personal preference.

Haven't had a chance to shoot mine yet, but will remedy that on Thursday.

I've owned a 5 inch Walther PPQ M1 for a while. More accurate and more fun to shoot than a Glock.

The only thing I have found is it doesn't like 9mm with a long OAL.

I have one.

The pros:

1. You have a choice, they have PPQ m1 and m2 models. The difference is M1 has the magazine release on the trigger guard similar to H&K. The M2 has a standard magazine release button on the side of the grip
2. Excellent trigger
3. Rear sight is easily adjusted
4. More compact than the H&K VP9
5 . Appears to be reliable, no recalls that I'm aware of. I estimate they were on the market for about 6 years.

Cons
Although Walther says the trigger pull is 5 to 5.5 lbs it seems lighter than that. This could be an issue for some people who may want to use it for carry.

My friend has an M1 variant - he's left handed and prefers the paddle mag release - that he shoots IDPA and USPSA with. More than 10K trouble free rounds through that gun. I wouldn't hesitate if that's what trips your trigger (see what I did there?).

For a lefty, the M1 is the model to go for. Quick pointer finger release on the paddle! Even for a righty too - just something different.

BTW I did encounter one with a small issue where the "ear" on the trigger bar needed to be slightly bent to align with the firing safety plunger on the slide in order to ride over it properly and not slip off the edge. Easy fix and easy to identify. Just check for clear, remove magazine, shine a light in the mag well and move the trigger back and forth. The ear should match up with the plunger nicely when depressing the trigger.

Overall they're very easy to shoot well.

I have a PPQ 45. Really like it. A 9mm PPQ M2 is on my want list.
