I blame the public schools, which gave up on critical reasoning and formal debate techniques. Now, everybody just spews their "feelings", as manifested by bumper-sticker slogans simple enough for those distracted by their smart phones.

I'm surprised and relieved that at least we seldom pull the race card here on PAFOA.
I agree, like "bumpy stock," when the "bumpy stock" is the least of the issue.

    Nuance is lost today.

Again, one opinion as to "the least of the issue" isn't the last word, just like "what's the best caliber" or "who's rights are more important?" Everyone has an opinion, and relatively few of them perfectly match mine, in most contexts.

Of course not, but for most of the people against the ban, it goes beyond the bumpy thingy. I really don't care about bump stocks in and of themselves.

No they couldn't, can't register new machineguns.

I believe the weak argument is that they "have always been" MG conversion devices (same category as MG's), and the 1986 freeze prevents ownership by non-SOT's of any post-1986 MG's.

That's why it's different from the reclassification of the Streetsweepers, which as DD's are not barred from future registration.

If oboma couldn't ban them (legally) what makes you think trump can? Within this 90day period,
its going to go to court, and be deemed unconstitutional. That's what Ive been reading on it anyway.
I guess you can say this is his way of placating the left. We'll soon see, so for now, stand behind him,
    not in front of him.

I'm standing behind him. BUT I would rather have donated my money towards his 2020 campaign and not towards law suits to fight his actions. I'm not going to do both. Why placate the left? If they want to try and legislate the bumpstock ban we have a senate to oppose it and a President to veto it. Which is what they will try if the courts strike down the E.O.

He's fighting like hell to get his wall, I want the same for muh gun rights
