    Default Blueing liquid in a squirt bottle?

    I had the idea to apply birchwood casey super blue and aluminum black from a squirt bottle yesterday and tried it on one of my punches today. It actually worked pretty well but I'd like to try this style of application a few more times on tools and small parts before I try it on anything important. Has anyone done anything like this before? I'm refinishing the aluminum frame on my 92FS after checking the grip and beveling the magazine well.

    Selenious acid is NOT the kind of thing you want aerosolized and loose in your shop, with you and loved ones exposed.

    We need a discussion on pumps and squirts. Lots of pictures should be involved.

    On another note, cold blue is crap and keep it off anything that matters. Rust blue and hot salt are the 2 ways to go.

    I use black oxide it's better and blacker than cold blue. But not as good as hot blue

    Tip of the day;

    Do not use Q-tips or any other cotton swaps ya find in the beauty/cosmetics aisle. The cotton is treated with lanolin , which , like oil/grease , inhibits the effectiveness of bluing solutions. Use sterile swabs , like those used in electronics.

    You're going to be thoroughly disappointed trying to refinish an entire firearm with Aluma black touch up solution
