    Default HK USC-UMP Conversions...

I am about to purchase one (money goes on on Monday), and I was curious if anyone has shot these, as I still have time to back out. Are often or rarely do they malfunction? Fun to shoot?? Any advice for owning one? (prone weak points, necessary upgrades, anything in general to watch out for)

    Thanks,
    Steve

I decided that I don't want to spend the extra $1000 to convert the gun or buy one converted, so I am going to look at a PS90 instead. Thanks anyway for the replies.

Not really. I can get them for right around 30 cents/bullet. Decent .223 runs 30cents, bulk cheap wolf runs right under 20 cents/bullet.

I have a USC converted to a UMP by HDPS. 500 rds through it. No malfunctions and dead on the mark, even though its only been 25yrds. Very fun to shoot. I am waiting for the return of my Form1 from the ATF to SBR my USC. Great gun, and even more fun to shoot than my PS90. Plus 45ACP is cheaper than 5.7x28mm. I still like my PS90 and plan to keep it and SBR it as well.

You can get the USC converted from these sites. www.top-notchparts.com; www.tacticalexcellence.com; www.hdps.org or you can DIY if you have that kind of talent.

Also check out HKPRO.com for more info on USC to UMP converts.

umm 45ACP is cheaper than 5.7x28mm no mater how u slice it

I also think ammo prices are nuckin futs right now.

so saying that 5.7x28mm was $17 per 50 when wolf was 150 per 1k and 250 for the good stuff

now if the inflation apply for 5.7 you better stock up!

I wouldn't argue with that. I was just making the point that it is not THAT much more expensive.
