Bushmaster Carbon 15
So I inherited a Bushmaster Carbon 15 from my father. He raved about it, but then again he never had anything more than a hunting rifle. I find it to be the ugliest AR ive ever owned. Anyone have any suggestion on what to do with it to make it more ascetically pleasing? I was thinking maybe a 15" free float handguard. Any other ideas?

Curious as to what you find so ugly about the rifle? It looks like just about any other stock AR to me.

The original carbon 15? You can't do much of anything because the innards are mostly proprietary. The later carbon 15? Don't do anything because its going to break eventually.

You can do some real nice camo patterns with spray paint. I usually get the flat paint from Walmart.

Re: Bushmaster Carbon 15
That's because it darn near is. I own one of the Carbon 15's.. And while it is super LtWt... its durability is dubious at the very least.
And parts are proprietary for the most part.
Rattle can it , don't use it for any form of physical support, as it tends to break at the lower receiver extension.
As for a truck gun... I would strongly suggest it be stored in a hard case.. I could see breaking one just from the seat being slide back onto it at a abrupt angle.
I ended up making mine a LtWt dedicated 22LR.
Can you post a photo of yours ?
This is very similar to my model... except with a adj. carbine buffer assm.
