Question Anybody heard of Pennsylvania Coalition To End School Shootings?

I got this email in my Spam folder today at 17:10:

Subject: Welcome To The Pennsylvania Coalition To End School Shootings

    From: Member Services PCTESS <webadmin2019@pctess.com>

    Sgt.K,
You are receiving this because you signed either our National Reciprocity petition, or our Disparity of Force petition both of which are administered by the Lehigh Valley Tea Party and both of which are aimed at protecting our Second Amendment rights.</ p>In appreciation, we are gifting you a three year membership in our recently formed non-profit, the Pennsylvania Coalition To End School Shootings. This is a statewide effort that brings together students, teachers, school administrators, individual rights advocates, lawmakers, law enforcement, mental health professionals and the community at-large for the express purpose of ending school shootings.
We feel strongly that eliminating mass-shooting incidents is critical to the protection of innocent life and to our firearm rights, as well.
Your membership is important to establishing a sizeable organization that is able to influence government and the community. If for some reason you wish to decline this membership, please use this link. (Decline)
    Thank you for your dedication.

It's entirely possible I eSigned one or both petitions, but the better part of valor is discretion. Thoughts?

After seeing your post I went to their website. There is nothing on there that expresses their stand on the second amendment. They are asking $15 for a membership and it doesn't say what a member gets for that. No names of any leaders are given. A P.O. Box is the address. It could be someone trying to make a quick buck, it could be an anti gun organization, who knows. I would decline and block further emails from them.
Besides how can any non profit coalition/organization stop school shootings?

I was going to post the same thing. I don’t know if I care enough to research and find out more. I most likely did sign up for the National Reciprocity petition. Not a fan of being made a member of something I know nothing about even if their heart is in the right place. They do give the link to opt out.

Maybe they have a website with more info. But like I said I don’t know if I really feel like researching. Maybe someone here knows something positive about them before I opt out.

Pennsylvania Coalition To End School Shootings (PCTESS) is legit.
It is a very new organization. I know who is involved with it.
That email you all received pretty much sums is up.
The persons in charge of it may chime in to this thread and address your concerns.

    Yes it is valid.

For those making jokes, I'm not sure how the topic can be seen as funny,

Today, a person should be skeptical. But most people in fact recall signing a National Reciprocity petition, most people understand the statement that NatRec and Disparity of Force "are administered by the Lehigh Valley Tea Party and both of which are aimed at protecting our Second Amendment rights" and I would think most gun owners favor "the protection of innocent life and to our firearm rights, as well."

Also if those jumping to conclusions would simply give a moment's thought, solving this problem requires cooperation from "students, teachers, school administrators, individual rights advocates, lawmakers, law enforcement, mental health professionals and the community at-large". You don't do that by barging in and telling them "hi... I'm here to protect 2A rights and you are going to sit and listen".

In fact, the effort aims to protect more than 2A. In its most basic form the matter of school shooters is about an individual who has mental issues... thoughts of murder & the means to carry it out, and getting him help before he does, while at the same time protecting his and all others rights of speech, defense, property, privacy etc unless and until the would-be shooter is properly adjudicated.

Last comment, no one asked anyone to join anything or pay anything. Membership is a thank you, giving people an easy means to refuse.

Skepticism is always good. Making remarks like some made in this thread is ignorance.

Thank you Berncly & ett for stepping in. (I need to spread rep)
