What is this on my p365?
I picked up my p365 from the ffl today. I brought it home and went to break it down and clean it. I noticed a mark on the rear of the gun just below the slide. What is it? Is it a scratch or a machine mark. Does anyone with a p365 have the same mark on their gun? Thanks for any feedback.
I only took one picture before leaving for a meeting.

Re: What is this on my p365?
Just looked at my sons 365 and no mark like yours.I would suggest it was from the polymer form making that imbedding mark. If your like me ( ANAL ) about these things I would get it replaced,If not and functions well and not discharging when dropped live with it. Congrats on your new firearm.

Mine doesn’t either. I am picking one up tomorrow for my son and I will check that one also.

Maybe it’s my eyes not the finish on the rear serrations looks thin and uneven. If that’s the case that would piss me off more then the scratch in the Polly frame since it would lead to actual issues.

I'm editing my post. Upon first look when I unholstered and took a quick look, I didn't notice anything. Now that I put a flashlight to it, it can see the identical mark (well, close anyway) on mine as well. In any case. It's purely cosmetic, enjoy your new gun! I've yet to have a hiccup after 500 rds, it eats everything. It's the most comfortable to tote (and comforting) edc I've ever owned other then a mouse gun.
Again, congrats on your purchase. You made a great decision. I'm currently carrying with Critical Defense ammo, but am researching heavier ammo more in the 147 gm range for penetration, etc.Last edited by buxbandit; December 7th, 2018 at 12:35 AM.

In that picture the light catches the flashing in the curve of the back strap.

Re: What is this on my p365?
Wrong. The mold didn't cause this. A gouge in the mold, or a gap between mold components, would cause a RAISED defect, but this is depressed. It happened after molding. Whatever it is, it's consistent gun-to-gun - mine has it too. This is caused by automated part handling, most likely by the pick-and-place robot removing the part from the mold. The part is hitting part of the mold or molding machine as it's being handled.
The robot will look something like this.
The REAL issue is that somebody is too picky about their guns.
