P89 just reminded me, I'll carry a whiskey rebellion flag too. Just to be a little different than the normal Gadsdens that show up.

I may be able and willing to participate when the time comes, I'll have to see. Why use a flag from a different era and different event, why not design a flag for the occasion? The one thing that concerns me is that with loaded rifles at such an event in this current climate (no, not winter) you could end up with a discharged weapon and once one is fired more would probably follow. Is this something that you are prepared for?

Smoke grenades and a couple of flash bangs should get them to disperse.

Explain to them calmly how you're a nazi fascist because you're carrying a Gadsen flag, trying to protect their rights to carry a firearm.

I agree: should this law pass and we would all be considered criminals, we need a group flag, maybe modeled on the whiskey rebellion of western PA.

Although ND's occur (infrequently), those of us at Gettysburg two summers ago will remember a single shot did not result in a riot, or even a second shot fired. That day there were more armed citizens and a larger variety of police than I had ever seen in one place too.

As a group we have often espoused personal responsibility. Asking people to bring unloaded weapons because they may be irresponsible is counter to many of the things we believe in. Maybe Pittsburgh should just pass a law that all weapons must be unloaded, that would keep us all safer...

With enough notice, i could visit my son at Pitt at that time too. Being that I am currently an out-of-stater, that ever-so convenient state of emergency would take away my open carry option. But i can still walk..

    Good question.

You would like to assume the police would do their job and keep the streets clear so people may lawfully transit. But, in a leftist city, like Pittsburgh, the police quietly take the side of Antifa and let Antifa have their way. So it is a problem with any protest or even a conservative political rally. Because you have to expect violence from the left and when they physically assault you, the police use violence and intimidation to prevent you from defending yourself or exercising your First Amendment rights. This video was from Portland or Seattle. Pittsburgh and Philly, with leftist Mayors, will play it the same way. The police know who signs their paychecks and that is who they obey when it comes to these things.

The only time Antifa may have a problem is if they attack the police. As long as they do not do that, Antifa can attack and beat any conservative without repercussions. In the odd case where a lefty is arrested, lefty judges let them go without punishment. Can you imagine Krasner prosecuting anyone from Antifa for any crime? Not sure if Pittsburgh has that problem too. I would expect they do.

The Whiskey Rebellion was eventually put down and taxes (more regularly) collected, and is largely (today) looked upon as a rebellion against exercise of a valid government power.

If you're looking for more appropriate symbols, look more into the long history of the liberty pole and pileus, especially with how they relate to the Revolution.
