I do recall Peduto saying, more than once, that he had outside financing to cover legal costs...but is that legal?

The answer is a very simple "NO".

Pretty much everyone who has spent time on this board trying to learn the laws surrounding their firearms actions knows that answer right off the bat, so how can elected politicians at that level either:
    1) NOT know that, or
    2) NOT ask a lawyer who knows that

They don't care. I kind of understand, because I don't care either what further restrictions are passed - even if "legally" done at the state or federal level

    I will not comply. Period.

And once I'm made into a criminal by the stroke of the pen, then I have a whole host of new options available - like private handgun sales with no paperwork, etc. I'll already be a criminal, so there is ZERO incentive to worry about all the other things I've been abiding by all along.

Yeah, because THAT justifies breaking the law.

Damn, for all these years I thought it was just, "life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness."

That Pedildo guy is just like all the other dems: making shit up and promising the moon to try and climb the political ladder to deity status. It's looking more like the hunger games every day.

Peduto will be arrested once the bill passes. And I'll bet that Zappala brings in an out-of-county jury to convict his ass for not heeding the warning. When the top prosecutor says "Stop! It's not legal, and you are persnally at risk" it is wise to take that advice. Flipping the proverbial bird to him is asking for prison time.

Who's going to arrest him? The DA that agrees with him, or the AG that also agrees with him? Local and State police ain't gonna do shit on their own.
