NJSP accepted blocked mags in the late 90's, maybe early 2000's.
My last contact with them was mags need to be "permanently" altered- the problem is they won't say what "permanent" is.

I would not put it past them to empty the mag of guts and shoot it under controlled conditions upside down to make a case for a high capacity feeding device- if they wanted you badly enough.
Your best bet is to have purpose built mags that are only long enough to hold the number du jour.

Expect that number to decrease as long as jerkoff Murphy remains at the helm.

If they can screw you, they will.

Even if it is technically legal, and I don't think it is, they'll run you thought the ringer anyway. They have nothing to lose. You might beat the charge, but you won't beat the ride.

Totally Apples and Oranges but I just had a flashback to my hunting days. A wood dowel in a pump shotgun to limit the amount of shells loaded. Temp vs permanent.

The removable limiter is not permanent per NJ standard unless you permanently sealed the bottom plate on so it could not be disassembled. Your best bet is to stash those away somewhere safe and legal like in the attic or burried in your backyard and buy 10 round ban state mags.

Unless you can get the NJ AG to place in writing that it's legal, and Evan Napp to initial and swear on a stack of bibles that he will defend you pro bono should you end up in the Klink, I would move those mags to a free state, and purchase 10 round mags.

People I know, that travel form PA to NJ to shoot CMP and NRA service rifle matches are purchasing these mags. The mags below meet the match rules for 20 round size box and are purpose made to meet the NJ round limit. I can’t swear that the reduced round limit is permanent or not for these mags but they would be purchased as mags with limited capacity.

The company in the 1st link can permanently block mags to any limit. Their mags are good to go in NJ.

I originally bought 2 mags modified/ riveted at 15. Discussions I saw on NJ gun forums, and some manufacturers that sell the modified/riveted mags said that such a modification met the NJ law with regards to being permanent. I assume it is not a complex procedure if one knows how to do it.

This seems to be the safe method most are recommending.

Guess my property will get lost in PA soon and I will stash up on useless 10rd mags. The only saving grace here is I can easily get 30rd springs and convert my hexmags to standard cap once outside of NJ.

    Just sucks.

It would be nice If 10 round mags were proportional in price compared to the 30's, but I know that's just a dreamy thought.
