The few civilian legal models imported from 1968 to 1989 are now worth over $5000 complete.

Parts kits are available from time to time from Switzerland as there complete guns are worth $200-$300, so sometimes an enterprising US company will buy some and have them de-miled to turn them into parts kits they can sell for $600 and above.

If you look on the Swiss Rifles Forum and the FAL Files there are some forum threads that detail the issues people have had trying to make a US made receiver to use these parts kits. Not easy.

In Switzerland yes you can pick up a STG 57 for a couple hundred bucks. They are very common still there on the ranges. Many of the matches there have over a thousand participants, some ranges can accommodate over a 100 or more on the line. Just saw photos on Facebook from a recent match at Rutli and the STG 57 was very common on the line.

Doing these in semi isnt a hard task , Finding overlapping pieces to make a new receiver is. that middle section is the part that usually got ditched. BUT sometimes hunks do come up for sale and are very $$$$$

The Swiss seem to be doing gun rights correctly over there.

Not really.
Firearm ownership and carry is at the will of the state.
They don't have the equivalent of our 2A.
