What are the best skills to have? The ability to fabricate what you need from what you have on hand. My neighbor in Vermont and I are masters at this. You should see some of the "Rube Goldberg" modifications we have fabricated on various items of day to day living.
Relationships between men and women can be difficult - but not impossible.

That's right. I used to laugh when I lived in Vermont when the power grid got shut down from time to time. No problem for me as my solar panels just kept putting out the power no matter what happened to the electric grid. (And the water kept flowing from the spring like it has done since the 1930's).

yep, there is a probably breeding population in this world that has survived without modernization for centuries. they wouldn't know if the power went off, they don't need refrigeration and short of crop killing weather patterns, they'd be just fine.
then again they still hunt for food. many parts of africa, some parts of america, south america, way up north... it certainly wouldn't be a european dominated world anymore but people would live on.

only issue with that is you better hope whatever happens it doesn't involve a darkening of the sky, airborn ash or the sun losing juice.
having a spring would be beautiful, our water is 200' down, same depth as the creek. easier to walk than to pump, non potable runs right past the house though. i've got endless heaps of non potable water.
There is no way to make it out alive...
