Some losses have been the pattern. The Republicans should not have lost any seats. The economy is doing well, at least by Obama metrics.

There were 193 Democrats in Congress, now there are 235 of them, with Dingy San Fran Nan being voted to run things again. She's just two heart beats away from being President.

look how many didn't seek re-election. that is responsible for most of it.

17 out of the 24 lost.

Some get it, some don't want to, he is obviously one of the latter. We can present all the facts we want and he will never get it.

So people naturally are going to pick the opposing party of the retiree? Why not stick with the same sort of person who made you happy?

The Democrats gained forty seats in 2018. They gained these seats in a very nice economy, one of the best since 2001.

I for one don't care for the people excusing Mr. Trump. He is playing fast and loose with our civil rights.

Trump here is asked about "gun violence restraining orders". Allow Due Process....

"Take the firearms first.... takes so long to go to Court... I like taking the guns early". Look, you cannot support Due Process while taking people's property without giving them the chance to go to Court, to face their accusers in Court. That's not how it works.

If he is willing to steal guns under the color of law why not ban them too? Why not just ban the nasty looking guns but the firearms most often used in shootings - handguns?

You don't have all of the facts. Why do you pretend to do so? I don't have all of the facts, I don't pretend to do so, but I am free to post my suspicions here.

I supported Lou Barletta with money, time and a vote. I supported my local rep, who won. I supported Wagner, even though we had a fine candidate named Ken Krawchuk, who won a small amount of votes.

Let's get into the vote while we're at it. There is a big lesson here for us as a group.

Just one example, the election which inflicted another four years of special interest government - York's famous son, the limousine liberal and academic dabbler, the Honorable Governor Thomas Wolf, PhD, OBE.

According to the official site 8,609,880 people are registered to vote in PA. Of these 4,111,325 are Democrats. 3,270,882 are Republicans. (see https://www.dos.pa.gov/VotingElectio...VR%20Stats.pdf )

Wolf got 2,870,500 votes. Wagner got 2,034,286 votes. That's 4,904,786 votes of 8,609,880 possible voters. Krawchuk got 48,976 votes. Paul Glover, the Green Party person, got 27,851 votes.

3,628,267 people picked other or nobody. That's more than who picked a candidate.

A big part of the problem is that the Democrats are increasingly successful at controlling the media and at controlling the discussion around the immigration fight. The media is influencing the useful idiots minds against our great democracy in favor of socialism by appealing to emotions rather than logic. Regardless of Trump's noise about the wall, I don't think we will see actual positive control of illegal aliens, most of whom appear to come and support Democrats and their free crap campaigns. And if we can not find a way to meaningfully impact the dialog and change minds, I don't see many of the younger generation suddenly wising up and realizing that socialism does not work. At least until they try it for a generation or two and see for themselves.

Most of the Republicans that did not run again were never Trumpers who did not support his agenda anyway. They were part of the reason why Trump has not been as successful as he could have been with a better agenda. They stymied him every chance they got and helped to create the mess we are in. I guess keeping Rinos in charge is more important to them than ideals.

As far as a better economy helping Trump and Republicans, that only works for people who have or want jobs and don't mind working for a living and saving to get what they want. Unfortunately, a good economy means less than nothing to the Antifa types and wanna be socialists who are more and more weighing in negatively on our country's politics. I may be a pessimist, but I see all of this getting worse, not better, because there are getting to be less of "us" and more of "them". Similarly, I fear increasing gun control as the demographics continue to shift in a bad direction. Our choices? We can fight against a rising tide, give up our stuff little by little, or figure out ways to operate in a non-permissive environment.

    Cool story bro.

You may not have taken a look around but your desire to impeach Trump would result in President Pence. He's a pretty solid statist with an (R) next to his name. Me, I'm sticking with Trump because he's put 2A supporting judges on the courts. They'll matter far more a decade down the road than the presidency of Donald Trump. I learned a long time ago I'm not always going to get what I want. In fact, I usually won't get what I want and take the small victories where I can.

I've got two pro-2A SCOTUS justices. I said 2 years ago all I wanted from Trump was that. Anything else was gravy. I certainly didn't expect the bump-stock ban but I also didn't expect some lunatic would use them in one of the largest mass murders in this country. We have the president's ear as opposed to the hatred Hillary has expressed for our rights, and us. For all of the "I hate Trump" crowd, I have to wonder about the viable alternatives you envisioned. If it was Johnson, I said viable. It's OK to bitch about what you don't like, but if you have no reasonable solution, then you're just a whiner.

And while I'm not a 4D chess believer, Trump did us a favor in a twisted way. By going the regulatory route, he headed off what certainly would have been bipartisan legislation to ban them. Worse, even when we were getting some positive legislation in '86, the Dems slipped in an 11th hour amendment to ban new machine guns for civilians. I can only imagine what would have slipped in to some anti-gun legislation. So, he created a weak ban that will be much easier to challenge in court and also shut down larger legislative efforts.

So, put on your pussy-hat and march for impeachment if that's your thing. I'll be sitting over here counting judges and keeping my fingers crossed that RBG and Breyer get replaced in the next two years because I know it will be pro 2A justices taking those seats.
