Re: $#@&* Poacher
The shotgun looks like it has a fairly short barrel, makes for easy handling from inside the car. That beer there and the loaded gun in car makes me mad that the PSP wouldn't come process this turd, especially after the game officer told me how he knew the guy.

Re: $#@&* Poacher
Looks like your run of the mill, factory camo shotgun to me.
The fact that they have the wad and slug suggests he probably killed it up close - probably while bedded down, if you say you've seen it there before.
The fact that the game commission is aware of the guy and may be looking for more evidence against him changes things a LITTLE.
They MAY use your info and the evidence collected to proceed further, but without any real urgency on their end, they aren't going to go all "CSI" on a guy who may or may not have shot a deer. Police do far less to investigate crimes against humans, so that's why I would be surprised if anything ever comes of it.

Re: $#@&* Poacher
Thanks for your input, the game commission would be more likely to do something than the police, I understand that but if they had come out when I called they might have been able to nab the guy for DUI, which would have been the most painful of his violations. However, I don't see how you can say, "may or may not...", I feel like he's caught red handed, what do you see as a loophole for him? I haven't heard the 911 tapes but he and I were talking about how he shot that deer while they were on speaker phone.

Good job Walleye! Poaching happens far more than people realize. I have tried to work with the game commission to catch some poachers. They always avoided us. I think they were using ATV's vs. cars that are easier to catch. We would find the left overs from the deer dumped all over the place.

Nonsense! How do you rationalize that?
They're both natural resources that are not contained within a single property's boundaries, managed and held in trust for the common wealth of the public (by the Commonwealth) to prevent a Tragedy of the Commons from occurring.Sed ego sum homo indomitus
