I assume you don't know the guy's name, but do you know what magesterial district the offense would have occurred in? Online records can be searched by court and date range, so even without a name, we may be able to find the information if any legal action takes place. From there, it's just a matter of checking back as the process moves forward.

It occurred in 23-3-01 I do not have his name but I spoke with the Game Commission Officer this AM and he told me that the guy fessed up and is being tagged for the act but he didn't say what the tally is. He said that loss of hunting license for three years is part of it but I don't see that being an obstacle for the guy.

I called the Game Commission this AM as I saw a vehicle in a golf course lot last night that acted suspiciously then saw a flock of buzzards in the adjacent field this AM. I wonder what the buzzards could have been gathering around.

Game wardens, like any leo, establish contacts to aid in his/her work. A contact in the east, one in the south, one in the west, one in the north or more.
Shot fired at night, contacts report the direction it sounded from and presto...triangulation. That helps pin things down a bit.
