Default Storing ammo in a safe

How many people store some ammo in the safe with their guns? I was thinking specifically about it "cooking off" in a fire and making a mess of everything inside.
I'll have to google a little about what temp it takes for the powder to start burning, and inside a safe, with a little thermal protection that may be difficult to achieve in a house fire.

If your safe gets hot enough to start cooking off ammo, the other stuff in the safe is already cooking/finishes blistering/plastic melting.

Mechanicals will be good, but you'll be on the phone with your insurance agent at that point anyway.

I agree, if the ammo is cooking off, everything else will be destroyed as well.

Ammo I'm not worried about, now the fireworks on the other hand. Then again at that point my house would be total loss.

I have a large safe, and half of it is full of my ammo.

Although the video I'm posting does not answer the OP's question. As a volunteer fire fighter this is the training video we watch to see what happens in most instances where ammo meets fire and other destruction. It's 25 mins long, but well worth viewing for an understanding of what will happen.

But not for the faint of heart, there is a lot of abused ammo in this video
    Thanks, that's a cool video.
