    Default NY rifle success

I only had about three days to hunt NY during their regular big game season. With rain in the forecast for tomorrow, I decided to take this buck. He isn't giant, or even large, but it was a nice day out hunting with a great friend. The jalapeno bologna is going to be great. I am getting the whole skull cleaned at the NY processor and am debating having a buddy hydro dip it. My daughter's Ruger American compact in .243 does it again. I may never carry another rifle. EDITED TO ADD: There is ZERO orange requirement in NY even during the rifle season. I was also wearing an orange jacket but removed it so I could roll up my sleeves to dress this deer. Also, you can see that his right antler had some type of infection at the base. The puss looked pretty bad and smelled even worse.

Congrats on harvesting a fine deer and especially getting out to enjoy a great American tradition!

Thank you, be safe and kill a nice PA buck!

You should swing by some day if you have time. I'm probably further east than your normal travels, but keep it mind some day if you have time to kill.

I hunt out of a camp in Crosby. The property we hunt was recently acquired by the state and is now part of Elk State Forest. I have a DMAP tag and a pistol.

Shit Crosby is almost my backyard. I thought you were closer to the ANF. PM we'll have a few beers, coffee, or whatever, sometime.
To be clear Crosby, along rte 46 heading toward Emporium, about 10 minutes south of Smethport?
