Default Glock 22 with Zev upgrades value.....

I'm looking at a Glock 22 with a Zev trigger group, stainless frame pins, stainless extended mags release and frame stippling all done by Zev. I'm wondering how much this could add to the cost of a private sale. It's a gen4 series, very lightly used coming with 3 mags. This is being offered by a friend of mine who is in a bind. He's making me an offer of 400, and that seems low. He won't take more just because I offer it. The sale needs to be fair for both people. Is 400 bucks too low? Seems like it when I price the upgrades on it.

I usually compare upgrades on a firearm to adding a pool to your home. Some people would prefer your home with no pool, while others will want your home because of the pool. Just because you spent money to upgrade something doesn't necessarily mean a higher price is justified to every potential buyer.

FYI, I bought my last LEO trade-in Glock G22 gen 3 from gunbroker for $260, seller was local, so no shipping, $5 PICS fee + tax, so it was sub $300 all in. YMMV

If he is in a bind and needs the cash right away, then make him an offer that you will buy it at that price and if in the future he wants to buy it back tell him you will sell it to him for what you paid for it. Then use it like you would any of your other guns.

Modifications and accessories really dont add much value to a firearm when it comes to resale value much like when you pour 1000's of dollars into a car or bike and then when you sell or trade it in you don't get anything more than regular trade-in/sale value. If you want to be fair price the cost of the Zev add ons, subtract 50% and add that to what you would pay for a used glock 22.

Thanks everyone. We settled at 400. Maybe too much, but a good friend so it's all ok.

400 is a fair price, I don't think you over paid.

    Fair price for both parties.
