What if an off duty or plain clothed officer was in there and popped the dude, same outcome? Would be no different then a citizen who saw the exact same thing.

Except a citizen wouldn’t have the same backing that the plainclothes officer has.

And the citizen wouldnt have extra magazines, a ballistic vest, a radio to call for additional help, etc.

I don't agree. What is happening at the moment is what is important, and what the officer, or citizen reasonably believes is happening.

This is just one more reason why you need to be VERY careful about even removing your gun from your holster. There have been mob hits, and gang hits in Philly restaurants, so something like this happening in reality is very possible. STUPID prank.
