    Default Kali-Key for hunting.

Has anyone seen this thing? http://www.jlbillet.com/kalikey

I am tempted to get one so I can use my SBR or new .224 Valkryie for whitetail this year. I feel like it would be legal as it is a manually operated rifle but who knows what the game commission will say.

Yes, I have other rifles but my SBR is just so light for a stalking hunt it would make the hunt a dream.

    That would work in Pa.
Of course the rabbit cop that rights you up won't care what the statute says.

After he gets over coughing up a hairball at the mere sight of an evil black rifle in the field.
    Sigh, fudds gonna fudd...

Maybe carry the illustrating paperwork with you and hand it over before fumbling for the hunting license.

Where does the gas go? I am guessing somewhere in your eyes...

That is very interesting...would save me about $500 from having to get a bolt action in 300 BLK to hunt in PA. Going to research and check reviews. Thanks for showing this on this site. Good Intel.

    That's pretty slick.

I used to think that the lever gun would be the next best option if the semi auto rifles are ever banned.
    This ain't half bad.

Sorry, I no longer hunt, so my mind goes in a different direction when seeing this product.

According to the MFG the gas is diverted out the side towards the ejection port. You can see in the images that there is a angled "ramp" on the front of the Kali-Key where it would meet the gas tube. In the video's of it in action, I'm unable to determine how effective this is.

Assuming the use of optical sights, why couldn't you rotate the gas block on the rifle just enough to close off the barrel port and use your own charging handle?
