I really don't understand how a government official can threaten nuclear retaliation on the citizens of this country who refuse to comply with a "not-yet-passed" law not only requiring gun confiscation but also violating the Constitution of the U.S. without being summarily arrested, tried in 15 minutes or less, - and then the problem somehow resolved itself.

No country club prison time, no Internet or WiFi, no extended health benefits, and no downstream pension plan benefits.

The Founding Fathers of this constitutional republic warned us about the possibility (and now tendency) to usurp the rights of its citizens. What is shocking is that it appears to be happening with more frequency in our lifetimes - a couple of centuries after the warning.

Reminds me of the story after the Fukushima tidal wave (and multiple nuclear reactor damage) that centuries ago, stones were embedded in some of the hillsides in Japan warning about building below these high water marks. Must have been a tidal wave involving one or more volcanic actions or tsunamis that really stuck in the memories of the folks there at the time.

Over time, even the Japanese ignored the warnings of their great, great, great, great, great grandparents about building below these stone markers.

These days, many U.S. citizens appear to be paying closer attention...

He's using the age-old argument that owning guns to resist an oppressive government is an effort in futility because the military has "tanks and shit".
He just used "nukes" in place of "tanks" in his smug commentary.

but "tanks and shit" argument don't hold when you point out that it isn't 1776 and war isn't held on open fields. but in an urban stronghold on the 100th floor of an apartment building full of squishy uninvolved liberals.
they never have a response to that or to civilians owning these:




or examples like the OKC bombing, a uhaul full of fertilizer and fuel.
all of those types of things are conveniently left out of the "the government has superior arms" argument.
same with the fact that the armory keys are held by fellow patriots and not corrupt politicians.
