Default Walther PPS M2 Drop safety issues

Walther just announced a voluntary recall on their PPS M2 due to potential drop safety issues. The Link has the list of serial numbers affected. PPS m1 are not affected.

I got an email about it yesterday, dropped it at FedEx this morning. From what I've read it's a very easy fix, so hopefully turn around time is much faster than the 6-8 week estimate the email said.

Anyone have an explanation of what's actually wrong and what they're going to do to fix it?

This is a bit of a bummer for me. My other carry gun is definitely a lot bigger.

That question was asked on the Walther Forum Website. A response was :

Walther told me it's the trigger safety. They used the PPS M1 trigger safety and it is failing in the M2.

"Out of spec trigger safety tabs" from what I was able to find on reddit and lines up with the reasoning in the link you posted.

Thanks for all the info guys... PPS is boxed up... I'll see if I can find time to send it out... Time to switch to the USP Compact for now.

Got one too that needs to go back. Got label and email printed out as well as a box from FedEx, it will get dropped off later today. And when they ask what it is; machined and molded parts. That label could be a real challenge to print. Disable any popup blocker in your browser and print in horizontal format.

It's unnecessary to lie about it, they already know since Walther authorized it and have an FFL on file.
