Sling on a Pistol Brace?

A friend of mine wants to know if it is legal to attach a sling to a pistol with a pistol brace or if this would alter the brace as manufactured and approved for use by ATF, thus rendering it illegal.

IANAL, but I don't see why not. Most of my traditional style pistols also have sling mounting points. Can't imagine it'd be illegal to attach slings to those.

The shockwave brcae has multiple sling loops, the SBA3 has a QD point... Most have something. I can't see attaching a sling as a redesign. Wait for other replies though or perhaps an email to SB tactical...

Removing a velcro strap however is definitely not recommended.

I'd agree. I just recall many HiPowers and Beretta 92's having rings and PCC's (which are actually pistols to the masses) like the CZ Evo, Stribog, etc. have attachment points also.

The question pertains to the foregrip but the answer only mentions pistols in general. This letter is 8 years old, they've probably contradicted themselves 10 times since then, IANAL, don't blame me for shot dogs, etc.
This is the closest match I could find in my stash of atf letters.
