I Would Like EVERY Member To Read This Post And Comment On It, Seriously

Please BEFORE you close this thread or think its another "let's do a fundraiser thing" please read this through.

I have had this idea for a while now, ever since the 'Huddy' thread to help out a member and their family. Money is great but we all know damn well money is freaking tight! Personally I KNOW its going to get worse over the coming months, you may not believe it but I am 100% convinced it will get worse before it gets better.

BUT

There are things we can do for each other to help out in 'times of need'. I discussed this with Rich (Pa Patriot) the other day and he thought it was a good idea so I want to get everyone's thoughts here and most of all the mods and super mods to REALLY try and make this happen, your support will help.

What I am proposing is a barter section, in other words "I need this and can do this" ... here me out

Let's say I am in trouble, my car is broken down (BTW its not) and I can't afford the repairs because money is tight. Let's also say I can do plumbing so I post a thread saying I need help fixing my car and I can do some plumbing work in return.... its THAT simple.

Folks a LOT of people are hurting and most people (myself included) would be too proud to say they were in trouble. No man or woman wants to have to admit they are 'in deep' but they would feel a hell of a lot better if they could do something for what they are asking for. It doesn't matter whether its a medical emergency or slow business that causes the financial hardship ... it just doesn't matter, the fact is it happens and is happening more and more every day thanks to this mess our country is in.

This community has shown many times when a member is down the community comes together. All I am saying is lets make it official and help each other out in a way that makes NO ONE feel like they are 'asking for help' or taking advantage of someone else. Its the old fashioned thinking of "If my neighbor's barn burns down I help them rebuild it because it may very well have been my barn and I might have been the one that needed help". It's NOT charity, its friends, neighbors and this great community coming together during these trying times ... becoming a REAL community

All I am asking for is a section within the forum where people can say 'I need this and can do this' ... I REALLY think it may help a lot of our community out over the coming trying times and it is truly in the spirit of the community we have.

Thanks for you time and indulgence reading this, PLEASE make your voice known so maybe we can get this done and all be able to help each other out .... in my mind its the 'human' thing to do.

Man, that's a great idea. Unfortunately, for me that is, I don't have many saleable skills. They are listed below:

a. Boot shiner
b. Gun cleaner
c. X-ray specialist, but I don't have an x-ray machine. Would a really bright light do?
d. EMT.
e. I can talk dirty in a slow, sexy voice over the phone. I've been told I have the perfect face and body and the sexy assed voice for phone sex.
f. Cop, but it seems like they are kinda on everyone's shit list, so I won't offer that service.

That's really it. Unfortunately, I guess I'm SOL, huh?

Nah bullshit brother .. everyone has something they can help others out with! Hell I don't care if you can rake leaves or clean gutters for someone that can't WE ALL HAVE VALUE and we have the ability to help others out ... don't sell your self short.
