    The starting paragraphs:
In the wake of tragedies like Saturday’s slaughter in Pittsburgh, social media and news channels alike immediately begin to seek the “real” culprit, be it gun laws, political ideology, violent media, or something else. This makes sense. We, as a society, have been hurt by these horrific actions and senseless deaths. It is our deepest, most basic instinct to lash out at the thing that has hurt us. It is human nature to find simple, singular causes which can produce an “easy fix,” even if that fix is inappropriate to the complexity of the situation.

In the wake of tragic mass violence, four common responses tend to emerge: emotional decision-making, oversimplification, hindsight bias, and the availability heuristic. Each of these responses can already be seen in the response to the tragedy at Tree of Life Congregation. However, each response is psychologically flawed and, thus, unlikely to produce positive change

Why is my response "No shit, Sherlock" yet the left, who "identify" as intellectually superior to the right, just can't see it?

The left has no interest in the causes of violence and who it effects other than to use these situations as a foothold to gain power. That is their main objective, power and if that means killing anyone, destroying the culture or creating a false image of those things then that's what they'll do. That's why they must control the press, the language and public perception. It's all about power.

the pathetic irony is, do You realize just how many of these fuckers asked for help? actually gave every warning sign?

ignored...glossed over. sorry. there is more than enough blame to go around....blame us? the nra? smith and Wesson? eugene stoner? sure...easy targets. how about the mental health system? james huberty...shining example....actually called a crisis line...24 hours before the san Ysidro rampage....they never called him back. why? they spelled his last name wrong....mr "shoberty" wasn't available...

after that, he said "society had their chance". the rest, is disastrous history, and, a fuck ton of bad mcdonalds jokes.

example after fucking tragic, blood soaked example. no one WANTS to fix the problem. that takes work...and diligence, and people, and money...which, we don't have, because our illustrious government pisses it away on stupid shit.

they blame us, we blame them, and the band plays on.

Don't muddy the water with facts. They have no place in a liberal agenda.

And the last thing anyone wants to hear is, "This is part and parcel to the cost of freedom." With freedom, there will occasionally be bumps in the road. True, if you or yours are one of the bumps, you really don't want to hear such, but the cost to society would be far harsher with quickie solutions and loss of freedom.

In the local area just last week the PSP shut down the highway for 14 hrs because one of the local loons said he was going to kill everyone and burn his house down, or along those lines. Most everybody local knows the guy has problems. A similar incident with the same person occurred a couple years ago. People close to him could probably recount numerous other incidents. AFAIK no guns or actual danger has been posed this this person....yet. Always a lot of hoopla, yet what this person really needs he will never get because we refuse to acknowledge dangerous people until it's too late.

So this guys name comes up this morning because he is under observation at a hospital where my GF works.
My comment was, sure he's been charged with all sorts of crimes, but you want to bet he's back in a few months on different meds? In a couple years he's actually going to snap and kill someone, God forbid shoot someone, and the blame will be the gun.
