It's the bullet that has the BC and SD that makes it keep it's down range speed. Whether you launch it from the 6.5 Creedmore, 6.5 Swede, 260 Rem, 6.5-284 Norma, 6.5 Carcano......Ok....maybe not the Carcano.....But the bullet will do the work from all of 'em. Granted, a quality barrel, properly free floated and if you handload, proper brass prep, and all of those 6.5mm cartridges will do very well.

There is always another faster cartridge out there.

Creedmoor in the package it is works very well which is why the US Army is adopting it for it's shorter range sniper rifles.

    I'll stick with .22, .223 and .308.

Funny how many times I've seen the 300 blackout and 6.5 being sold used already.

My .257 Wby cranks 110gr Accubonds at 3500fps without a sweat.

I still like shooting the .308 5R better. The Creedmore is fine, but really only excels if you want a light target gun to stay supersonic past 1000. Nothing wrong with it, but other calibers do it better and flatter if you really want that.

Thanks for the perspective. Makes a lot of sense.

Yeah... that added performance will come at the cost of dramatically lessened barrel life... more like a 6.5-284 barrel life.

I am not sure why 100 fps is that much better. I hand load 6.5 in my RPR and I am getting 2850fps out of my loads. I am loading with 42.5 gr of H4350 and an OAL of mag length.
