Yeah, no kidding. This whole race was over before it began.

80% for republicans (out of twenty five people in east bumfuck) isn't going to do shit against 80% for democrats. (out of hundreds of thousands in Philly and Pittsburgh)

It was refreshing to hear people here reporting that there was a larger than usual turnout of republicans, but even as I read it, I thought to myself, "Had these people gotten their fucking asses out and voted in the PAST, they wouldn't be running to the polls NOW - when it's too little, too late."

Casey and Wolf "allegedly" got 87% of the vote in Philly. We cannot win anything unless we put up some sort of fight in these Dem strongholds.

This is an object lesson as to exactly why the Electoral College exists at the Federal level.

Substitute NY, NJ, CT, MA, NV, IL, OR, WA, and CA for Pittsburgh, Erie, Harrisburg, State College, and Greater Philidelphia counties and those states would constantly elect POTUS, without the Electoral College.

Exactly. The Federal government was supposed to be serving at the pleasure of ALL the States, not just the populace ones. We see the Metro areas (cities, and suburbs) now controlling ENTIRE STATES. This is a disturbing trend, and will only continue, and States have no ability to stop it.

My ward was fairly uneventful, and of the 1176 registered voters, we had 754, including 11 absentee ballots for a 64.1% voter turnout.

I don't know what typical turnout is for a mid-term election but the staffers at Rafferty's farewell party indicated that it was very high yesterday. While the blue wave voters rose to the call so did the reds, it sucks for them when that happens.

Well it's been an issue for a long time since post Reagan. We've ceded ground in the cities and for no reason. These people get blasted with nothing but dem propaganda and at least if we aim to get our message out there we might convince some.
