Delaware County United for Sensible Gun Policy will be joining hundreds of others for a rally Tuesday afternoon in Harrisburg to say Pennsylvania needs more safety from guns.

I haven’t posted here too much as of late, but I just wanted to remark that we better get our game together for this legislative session or we are going to end up like our neighbors to the north, south, and east. I have been seeing a lot of forum activity focused on the current saga going on in Pittsburgh. I agree that it is important to oppose all unlawful acts considered or passed by a municipality. However, we don’t want to lose sight that we could take major losses this legislative session in Harrisburg by getting too distracted by this saga. Maybe it is even being intentionally done by city officials and the anti-rights groups to distract us.

I plan to attend the 2A rally at the capitol in Harrisburg in May, and hope you all will too. In the meantime, please pass along information about activists being needed at the capitol to counter the anti-rights crowd. There was talk about organizing activists some months ago, but I have not seen anything about it lately. If this is implemented, I hope others will also be able to volunteer to do this.

In order to better relate to all the swamp creatures we might run into, slime color hats may be the way to go.

All joking aside, I think there are a lot of representatives and senators who are on the fence about the Right to Keep and Bear Arms in Harrisburg. A more active gun owner constituency in Harrisburg, even as small as rotating through a hundred or so available people this session, could pull enough to our side. In fact, this is the strategy the anti-rights groups are using to pull them their way.

On the other note, we need to get a directory of all willing volunteers and their email info & cell numbers ASAP. We also need an aligned set of simple talking points to print and take along with them to the Capitol.

Berncly - I know you mentioned this initiative a few months back. Any progress? I could take this on and compile into a spreadsheet as well as develop the talking points (and make a Google Doc for editing/comments by a few people).
