Damn, I'm one of the rare breed who trained and qualified with a 1911A1, and abhor that platform.
I guess I'm looking for a g19.5, same size but single stack.

Kahr also makes the St 9 with a 4" barrel and a tp series with a 4" barrel. They're probably going to be the closest thing to what your looking for.

Sig had the 239 if you can find a used one. It would be very close as well.

Taurus also has a single stack version of the G2 out now too, but it's a shade smaller than what your after.

Unfortunately, there's not much in the single stack world in that size anymore.

    SIG-Sauer P225 / P6:

40,000 SIG P6 pistols from the Nordrhein-Westfalen state police have been imported into the US and sold since 2006. It and the older P225 (NOT the current P225-A1) check all of your boxes.

    Type: Compact
    Weight 26.1 oz (740 g)
    Length: 7.1″ (180 mm)
    Height: 5.2″ (132 mm)
    Width: 1.30″ (33 mm)
    Barrel Length: 3.9″ (99 mm)
    Sight Radius: 5.7″ (145 mm)
    Capacity: 8+1

    Wicked accurate, too.

+1 on the CW9. I've put hundreds of rounds through mine without a single problem. It's a great and accurate little shooter.

A single stack with a 4 in barrel are hard to find. The only one I could think of is the Sig 225a1 but they weigh about 27 oz empty. Expensive too. With that type of criteria have you thought of a revolver ?
