Educated Someone Today
Popped down to a nearby tire shop (locally owned/operated), OCing my 9mm. An elderly gentleman (he looked older than me, acted and sounded older than me, was actually six years younger than me) noticed my sidepiece and told me he had a permit also. I, of course, corrected him and pointed out it was a license, not a permit. He somewhat insisted it was a permit, so I showed him my license which clearly stated "License". I chatted with him for a while, went out to my car and got him a PA Open Carry flyer. He was most appreciative, learned he didn't know a lot, and thanked me for taking the time to speak with and educate him. (I was not condescending or anything like that.)
We shook hands, I picked up my garden tractor tires that had been repaired and left. Nobody else in the customer service area even batted an eye.

Shoulda just screamed "It's a license, motherfucker!"
Rules are written in the stone,
Break the rules and you get no bones,
all you get is ridicule, laughter,
and a trip to the house of pain.

Screaming immediately puts the recipient on the defensive and deep down inside they don't hear a single word you're saying. Likewise with being condescending.
Remember, they're ignorant, or have been educated wrong. It is incumbent on you to educate them right.
And yes, I know you were being facetious when you said what you said.

Re: Educated Someone Today
You educated somebody? License and permit have almost identical definitions. "Educating" somebody that it isnt a "permit" is akin to "educating" somebody that a glock 17 is a "pistol" and not a "handgun".
